Designer Considers Nature as Product Component

Designer Considers Nature as Product Component

By Dave Pinter on August 24, 2009

Alain Berteau’s recent redesign of the clothes hanger might at first glance look rather rustic. But the eco-minded designer thought it was a waste of energy to re-form wood that nature already created in pretty useful shapes. Berteau’s hanger concept therefore is a set of reusable hooks that you buy and must afterwards source fallen branches from a walk in the woods. Berteau wanted to get beyond the idea of producing a product that was green and encourage consumers to get exposed to nature in order to complete the product.
