Summer 2008 saw the reopening of Galapagos, a former Williamsburg based performance venue that was ironically priced out of the neighborhood it helped establish. Finding a second life in a 102-year old, 10,000 square foot horse stable located in Dumbo, the club becomes New York City’s first LEED certified “green” cultural venue. Along with their not-for-profit fundraising activities, a rotating showcase of theater, dance, performance art, music, cinema, and literary events keep things fresh.
