Keetra Dean Dixon has a notable body of work with an over arching positive message. The Alaska born artist is on a constant search to capture wonder and awe in the everyday with projects such as the Anonymous Hugging Wall, a blanket with arm sleeves that enables you to receive an embrace by an unknown person. Her Tricky Photo Booth is a seemingly normal photo booth that surprises the user with phrases and designs on their photos that can be decoded to reveal a deeper meaning. Tiny Public Plaques is another intriguing project where she places sweet sayings in meaningful public places around her city. For example, you may find the words “trust me” on an outdoor ATM machine. One of the projects we love most is the pillowcases with a face on them, so you never feel as though you are sleeping alone.
