Nikki Farquharson: Transforming Fashion Editorials into Cartoons

By Laura Feinstein on August 20, 2009

London truly is a swinging place right now as it seems to be producing the most talented illustrators as of late. First, we brought you Shantell Martin’s skin illustrations, now British designer Nikki Farquharson is turning fashion editorials into cartoons. Between her Mixed Media Girl and recent Baby Girl series for now defunct Missbehave Magazine, Farquharson has certainly been keeping herself busy turning normal fashion photography into an explosion of colors and shapes in what could be best described as Steven- Meisel-meets- Paper- Rad. The trend of illustrated fashion spreads has always been around, but magazines such as NYLON and MUSE are taking in into the next millenium.
