(Pics) Kmart: World’s Longest Receipt?

By Dan Gould on August 13, 2009

Earlier this week, PSFK went shopping for a few small, inexpensive items at our local Kmart. We were shocked when the receipt the cashier presented to us measured over three feet long (38.5 inches to be exact).

Other than the necessary documentation of what was purchased, the seemingly endless receipt contained lots of legalese, K Mart ads, and requests for feedback. Does this make any kind of sense?

Retail stores should take note – this kind of wastefulness is one big area for improvement. Why not offer the option of skipping a receipt all together?
