We’ve seen concrete in many a trendy bar or hotel lobby but it’s not every day we notice it being used in furniture for the home. The Element Coffee Table from CB2 is made from an agregate of marble, granite, stone and natural fibers. CB2 says that it is handmade in an eco-friendly workshop powered without consumption of fossil fuels to avoid CO2 loads.

You cant you really use eco-friendly and concrete in the same sentence, it currently accounts for 5% of the worlds greenhouse gases, and by 2050 will account for 4-5 billion tonnes of C02 per year.

I like the design, but I find concrete seems to sap the warmth out of a room, especially if it’s a small space.
