Motion Tracking Animation Enriches Pool Games

By Dan Gould on September 22, 2009

Obscura Digital’s CueLight Pool Table uses motion tracking software and an overhead projector to layer animation on top of a standard pool table. The animations react to the changing positions of the balls, and add some color and additional action to the game. Future plans for the system include a computer analysis of the balls position and lighted lines to revel the best possible shots.
