Raleigh Denim: 98% Local

By Laura Feinstein on September 17, 2009

There’s something inspiring about a couple whose mutual interests have led them to create something interesting and compelling, through hard work and sleepless nights- a creative brainchild. Such is the case with North Carolina based Raleigh Denim, run by husband and wife team Sarah and Victor Lytvinenko, who through unique fit and stitching have created a cult following among denim aficionados and elite retailers alike (currently, Raleigh Denim is stocked by Barneys and Steven Alan among others).

One of the main draws of Raleigh Denim is that  98% of what goes into the company’s jeans are from North Carolina, including the vintage machines they use. The creators often travel around the North Carolina and Tennessee border looking for old factories and needle towns to pick up such ancient technology. And the result are authentic, though modern, original denim designs which smack of care and intrinsic quality.
