The Portraits of Stefan Hobmaier

By Nicko Margolies on September 21, 2009

Stefan Hobmaier, a photographer from Germany, has a new series of photos called Dorfjugend that covers young people growing up in small towns.  His images capture the unique pace of life in rural communities and easily convey the spirit of the people he captures.  The images range from delightfully mundane to colorful but relaxing landscapes.

Hobmaier was born in the Bavarian countryside he documents and currently lives in Munich after an education in Barcelona.  The portrait series focus on salt-of-the-earth simplicity, but his work covers contemporary techniques as well.  Hobmaier is also available for photo retouching and features an impressive online portfolio of previous jobs.
