We’ve been following the shared workspace trend globally for a few years now and have been noticing a uptick in the number of co-working spaces in China lately. We’ve been particularly impressed by the efforts of the newly-opened Xindanwei (æ–°å•ä½) in downtown Shanghai, who joins a few other shared workspaces sprinkled throughout the city. Occupying a refurbished warehouse, Xindanwei is targeting the freelance and start-up community of local Chinese and foreigners in Shanghai. Along with the standard comforts of a shared workspace, Xindanwei also organizes innovative talks and events for the Shanghai community at large.
Xindanwei’s self-description:
Xindanwei isn’t just about sharing office space and desks, it is run more like a club of creative workers. Xindanwei is a community of freelance professionals, start-up entrepreneurs, tech workers, writers, designers, architects, artists, students and others from overseas and China, whoever thinks working with others cool people are more productive, more inspiring and a lot more FUN!
