Emil Jacobs Flex-Seat Design Makes Flying Easier

Emil Jacobs Flex-Seat Design Makes Flying Easier-2

Using a vertically staggered layout, designer Emil Jacob has introduced more room, and storage space to the economy-class flying experience.

Upper level seats can recline fully by moving backwards, and the lower seats recline by moving forward. Lower level seats also fold up to offer easy access to luggage bins in front of the seats.

  1. Would you like aisle, window or coffin seating?

  2. Awful. How long does the boat take?

  3. Is this really a good design idea? I doubt it: imagine the chaos involved having two levels in the case of evacuation. Stepping up and down, think of elderly people and kids.

  4. I think its an idea that can be developed further. Good creative thinking to a problem we have all endured.

  5. Har har, only if you have tiny matchstick legs like the woman in the image.

  6. Will definitely not pass 90 second emergency evacuation particularly from the coffin seats. Tall structures are unlikely to make it thro 16 g crash tests. Looks good on paper though.
