Bodega, a Brooklyn-based group of creative consultants that develops socially responsible brands and communities, is launching its first endeavor, the “Mapping Project.” The meet-up, which takes place tomorrow at 303Grand in Williamsburg, aims to connect creatives, start-ups, social entrepreneurs, and small business owners in the borough with the purpose of spurring collaboration.
Aside from meeting other change-makers, attendees can register for the “mapping” part of the project—an interactive digital map that will serve as a resource for community business development.
“After living in Manhattan for years and witnessing the lack of a general sense of neighborhood connectedness, and yet the incredibly connected creative, tech, and entrepreneurial community, I then moved to Brooklyn where I witnessed the opposite: a general sense of community love, but so many disparate artists, business owners, and start-ups struggling to exceed at their singular ventures,”
said Indira Vaidy, one of the project’s founders.
The meet-up will take place tomorrow, October 8, from 7-10pm at the revolving storefront. “Events like this help us achieve one of our main goals as a business: to provide a creative outlet and resource for the local community, and to help push creative business ideas further,” says Ruth Heronemus of 303GRAND. “We hope to see a lot more of these type of events in the future.”
