Stalqer iPhone App Helps Friends Stalk You 24-7
A new location tracking application for the iPhone called Stalqer is about to launch in the US. The app runs in the background and broadcasts your location to your friends automatically every 15 minutes.
Stalqer lets you import your Facebook friends, via Facebook Connect, so that you can see where any friends who are also running the app are. Stalqer can also show the location of friends who aren’t signed up, grabbing public information off their profile like “City”.
Apart from the regular map view of users’ location, Stalqer also features an augmented reality view: users can see the location of their friends superimposed over their surroundings when they look through the mobile phone’s camera.
Obviously, privacy is a big issue with location tracking applications like Stalqer. For this reason the app has a vast array of security settings that allow users to indicate specific friends who can see their location. Plus, users can make sure the app only shows the city they’re in as opposed to their exact location within that city.
Additionally to tracking friends, Stalqer users can locate points of interest via the application. Stalqer has close to a half million bars and restaurants listed in the U.S, and users can add locations as well.
