Read Write Web points us to an interview that Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google gave at the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo Orlando 2009.
In the interview, Schmidt outlines his vision of what the web will look like in five years. Some of his thoughts were not all that surprising, such as: computers will get much faster, and teenagers’ current behavior represents how we’ll all use the web in the future.
What we really found interesting, was his ideas on the real-time web, and how there is going to be a fundamental shift towards the Internet being mostly made up of user-generated information rather than traditional media. He also states that the Internet will be dominated by Chinese-language content.

Eric may just be right about the Chinese language replacing English as the lingua franca on the web. The next five years are going to be absolutely incredible to witness in regard to the internet.
