foodspotting

Foodspotting is a service currently in private alpha that aims to improve the way we search for a place to eat. Instead of organizing food reviews by restaurant, Foodspotting’s community catalogs individual dishes. With descriptions and images of prepared plates along with where to find them, Foodspotting stands to provide a more natural way to find what people are actually in the mood for.

  1. The pair who came up with Foodspotting claimed a primo space at the Women2.0 Startup Weekend in San Francisco on a weekend when temps hit 103 and the air-conditioning was sketchy. through it all, they kept their cool, invited and got great input from the 150 hardy souls sweating it out in Dogpatch, and prevailed, winning the prize for best idea and $5,000 in angel money on Sunday.

Really excited to see this moving forward so quickly. This is just one example of the wealth of ideas coming out of Startup Weekends!

  2. Thanks for the added insight, Lydia! I also found that they had a quick video of their pitch at Women2.0 here: http://vimeo.com/6439198
