GPS Watch Maps Wearer’s Movement In Real-Time

Japan-based electronics manufacturer Thanko has developed a watch that actively tracks the wearer’s location, continuously syncing the information with an application powered by Google Earth.

Thanko presents the watch as a way for hikers to map their paths along trails for future review. We can’t help but see a number of other interesting applications for city dwellers as well with the increasing number of real-space games and projects powered by location-based data, many of the same nature as the Wolves and Sheep project appearing at this years Ars Electronica Festival.

  1. Nice watch, I wonder if it’s already sold in the market other than in their website. Contents are in Japanese, could be translated but still it’s hard to understand…but anyway thanks for sharing.

  2. Wow what a lovely watch!! I really liked this one and I am gonna get this in my collection.
