Dutch architecture firm MVRDV has designed a stunning building for the city of Rotterdam which stylishly mixes public and private space. Construction has begun on the Market Hall, which features 228 apartments which form a tunnel over a public market area. Over a hundred shops and restaurants will fill the center hall, and all apartments will have balconies facing the exterior. The building is scheduled to be completed by 2014.
