Starbucks is testing a new logo and store design in London. Chris Osburn spotted the new store and took these photos. It’s interesting to see the return to the old style logo, the manual coffee machines and retro furniture. The store is on London’s Conduit Street.

  1. what is going on here? why would they go back to the old, ‘controversial’/taboo logo? …all in the name of retro (read:lazy) design? I would almost expect this in the US, but not in generally a bit more forward-thinking/open-to-innovation London

  2. Maybe it’s to divert people’s attention away from the taste of the coffee?

  3. I’ve seen this touted as a “new” design in a few headlines and I’m glad the other commenters recognise it for what it is – the original. And Chris I’m guessing that in Britain, indeed in much of the world outside the US, the bare-breasted logo would never have been an issue. All in all, I prefer the original in brown to the garish green thingy they use in most places.

  4. No matter how much Starbucks try and emulate Monmouths in decor and vibe – the quality will never be the same.
