There was a rather nice outpouring of commentary around the theme of blogging evolution. Readers from all over the place left messages to ask us to keep going – you can read them here.
I still feel that PSFK still needs to change – but maybe that change is to make a second site with PSFK content and other reader content – somewhere in between where we are today and where crowdfueled spaces like TrendHunter are.

I can’t believe you could mention PSFK and Trendhunter in the same breath! For people who don’t have time to read everything, PSFK consistently captures the most relevant and interesting stories, with insightful curation and commentary by intelligent people. Trendhunter is an unstructured information overload of gadgets, gossip and sensationalism cruedly scraped from the web by illiterate scenesters on a horrible looking, cluttered website. No insight, no original content, no apparent contribution (yet still very successful, so well done them).

Hey Piers. Yeah really intriguing comment. Took me back a little. I have been a fan of PSFK for a long time and this is the first time the site has seemed to have doubted itself. At least in public.
The thing I like more than anything about PSFK is that at least it seems, to be about great content more so than appealing to the masses based on fast food gadgets and too cool for school nic-nacs that lack content. You have content and a team that provides a lot of people with a lot of knowledge.
I wouldn’t worry to much about what the others are doing, just keep reinventing your own wheel and space.
Dont forget, you know a lot more about the blog movement and changes to blogging than the majority of your readers. Its important to stay ahead of the game but how far ahead? You work with a lot great brands, so do I… some of the them the same brands. The CEO of Coke Asia recently told me that by the time he starts to tire of a new campaign, is just about the time that the public start to notice that it even exists.

Piers, request: PLEASE INCLUDE US IN ANY IDEAS THAT ARE FLOATING AROUND… A thought-storm perhaps? A good ideas salon telecast? A mini forum for interested parties? Surveys? Ideas simulcast? Something inclusive… could start a trend!

You might lose your audience by dissing Trend Hunter. You don’t see anyone at Trend Hunter talking trash over you. Pretty badly played Mr. Wood.
