Giving a monstrous boost for the sounds of the diminutive iPod, the Wall of Sound by Swedish brand Brothers is a serious piece of audio equipment. Bucking the trend of smaller, more virtualized electronics, the 3ftx4ft speaker system is tube amplified, and peaks out at 95dB. It’s an interesting design that brings a strong physical presence back to the act of listening to music.

This rather simple post struck a cord with me yesterday when I read it. The line, ‘It’s an interesting design that brings a STRONG PHYSICAL PRESENCE back to the act of listening to music,’ is really a ’surprisingly expected’ insight. Music has gone from being ‘on display’ (think records, tapes, ‘real’ headphones, boomboxes, etc.), to its current ‘hidden’ state (think 10,00 songs on an iPod, earbud headphones, mp3s, etc.). My two cents…
