Edge Motion Audio Transmits Sound Without Speakers

By Kyle Studstill on December 2, 2009

Emo Labs’ Edge Motion audio systems are poised to be a major breakthrough in how we receive digital audio from our electronic devices. Instead of using magnets to deliver force from behind a cone as with traditional speakers, Edge Motion creates audio by providing force laterally along a thin plastic membrane. This allows the sound to be delivered from a speaker that can be placed seamlessly over a monitor or display, reducing the space and materials used up by traditional speakers and allowing for a more integrated multimedia experience.
