Lost London: Previously Unseen Photos Discovered
Londonist points us to previously unseen photos of London from 1870 to 1945, a period that saw London go from a bustling horse-drawn city to the devastated streets of the Second World War. Beginning January 23, a free exhibition at Kenwood House, Hampstead will showcase 100 historical photographs from the English Heritage archive, allowing visitors to catch glimpses of long-forgotten buildings and people. The images were originally taken to provide a record of those districts of London marked for demolition.
