Machinarium: The Hand-Drawn Web Adventure Game

By Dave Pinter on January 15, 2010

The visual styles of video and computer games mostly fit into two categories, hyper-realistic or stylized to look like shiny plastic. Machinarium is a point-and -click adventure game rendered in an exquisite hand-drawn style. The Czech based studio Amanita Design created the game in which players interact with a robot who collects and trades items and has to navigate based on solving puzzles. A seemingly simple premise but the challenge is in sequential problem-solving. Aside from the game-play, the design and backgrounds are extraordinary.
