PUMA X UNEP “Play For Life” Partnership
Though Pumas as mountain lions are a solitary and fickle creature, Puma the brand understands the importance of having global friends. It’s part of this reason that they’ve teamed up with the United Nations Environment Programme to institute a partnership dubbed “Play for Life” which supports biodiversity and “specific initiatives” in Africa. In addition, they’re also unveiling The PUMA Africa Unity Kit, which according to a recent press release by PUMA will be:
“The worlds first continental football uniform, which will be worn as a third kit by each of the 12 African football teams that PUMA sponsors during the run-up to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa this June and July. With all eyes on Africa during the 2010 football season, the PUMA Africa Unity Kit makes a compelling global statement, uniting Africa’s teams as a powerful force in world football while raising awareness of the importance of environmental issues.”

Additionally, Puma will also be launching gear in the coming months to raise funds for “Play for Life”, which will include a PUMA Unity t-shirts and a series of Puma collectible shoe laces designed by artist and frequent collaborator Kehinde Wiley.
