Summit On Mt. Kilimanjaro: A Climb For The Clean Water Crisis

By Kyana Gordon on January 7, 2010

The Summit On The Summit was created by Grammy-nominated singer Kenna to raise awareness of the billion people worldwide who lack access to clean drinking water. He believes it is attainable and the endeavor was prompted by the childhood death of his uncle, from a waterborne illness in Ethopia. Beginning today, January 7, Kenna and a team of climbers ranging from scientists, activists, educators, altruists, musicians, and celebrities will climb Mt. Kilimanjaro for a week-long, 50-mile trek. The eco-climbers will be wearing GPS trackers, so you’ll be able to see how each adventurer is faring by checking the updates on Summit on the Summit website, which will be constantly updated with photos, videos, and tweets.
