What Is Fresh: A Tool To Locate Seasonal Food And Farmers’ Markets
WhatIsFresh was developed by Michael Horn, born out of his frustration to find an elusive key ingredient for a dinner party recipe. In May 2009, he created WhatIsFresh, a website where New Yorkers could search for the best local, seasonal food and farmers’ markets.
The site is divided into three categories: markets, vendors, and products. The Markets section displays a weekly calendar showing the hours of markets that are open, the vendors section lists all the farmers involved (including what they produce), and the products sold are further categorized by type.
For more detailed information on the vendors and produce, check out The Fresh Blog.
