YouTube To Offer Streaming Movie Rentals
Gizmodo reports that YouTube will be opening up an online movie rental service tomorrow. Limited to only 5 independent titles at the moment, users will be able to live-stream rented titles for 48 hours.
Entering into an already crowded marketplace, Gizmodo is not optimistic about YouTube’s success:
This is all well and good, but if that dirty little rumor concerning iTunes.com being turned into a streaming service actually comes good, consider YouTube’s indie frolicking as being as good as dead.
