Digital Nostalgia And Cultural Detritus: The Art Of Hollis Brown

Digital Nostalgia And Cultural Detritus: The Art Of Hollis Brown

By Dan Gould on February 18, 2010

Using images of dead media, worn out cultural icons and imaginary digital landscapes, Hollis Brown Thornton creates a fantastic world out of cultural detritus. Pigment transfer, marker and acrylic paint are used by the artist to render his neo-nostalgia pieces.

New editions from Thorton are now available from Jen Beckman’s 20×200 gallery here.
