iPhone App To Keep Track Of Our Politicians

Labour MP Derek Wyatt has taken the idea of “public servant” to the next level.  Wyatt is allowing his constituents to follow his every movement via a free iPhone app called “MyMP.”  The app, which is available through the iTunes store, allows people to see where their MP is at all times of day.  It also allows people to message Wyatt, providing an outlet for their issues and concerns.

According to Wyatt:

“Now people can alert me in real time to any issues that I need to address, and they don’t have to visit my website to find out what I’m doing… This is a new way to encourage people who might not be particularly engaged in technology or politics to get involved… Even if it is only to send me complaints!”

The app has been downloaded more than 4,000 times and the developer is looking to roll it out to other politicians.
