Mobile Phone Can Detect Counterfeit Money

By Dan Gould on February 25, 2010

A new mobile phone manufactured by India’s Intex Technology has a host of standout features.

Offering a triple SIM slot, the Intex IN5030 is capable of handling both GSM and CDMA. Beyond this handy property, the phone also comes with software called Currency Checker. The application reportedly can tell the difference between fake and real Indian currency.

Though it’s not clear how Currency Checker works (or if it really does), it would be an exceptionally useful tool if put into wider circulation.
