(Pics) Circle Re-Imagines The Hospital

Global architecture firm Foster + Partners designed the modernist Circle Bath Hospital, taking a sharp departure from traditional hospital design. Opening this month, the three-story structure is set into the hills on the edge of protected land, south east of Bath. The modern approach embodies intimacy, providing a ‘corridor-less’ environment, encouraging a sense of community and well-being. The design model was conceived of with Circle, the first health-care company of its kind in the UK, owned by its employees. They believe the patient experience will be transformed by their new generation of compact hospitals.
