Earl Cox is a supporter of Tesla Motors.  So much so, that he decided to donate $2,000 worth of charging hardware to enable owners to make the trip between San Francisco and Los Angeles.  Mr. Cox donated a Tesla Home Charging Unit to Harris Ranch, a restaurant and inn located in Coalinga, CA.  It will be one of 15 or so charging stations in California, and will hopefully provide Harris Ranch with some extra business and Tesla drivers with some extra freedom.

While there has been lots of talk about building out a charging infrastructure that will allow for long-distance travel in EV’s, little conversation has taken place about grassroots charging networks.  One can’t help but wonder if this could be the start of a new movement or business model?
