Tiger Beer’s Augmented Reality Guide To Chinese New Year

By Kyana Gordon on February 16, 2010

The Chinese Year of the Tiger is underway, and Tiger Beer has developed an app that’s a pocket guide to making the most out of the celebrations in the UK. Created in association with Dazed and Confused magazine, the handy iPhone app works by simply holding it up in Chinatown, where it highlights surrounding bars and restaurants which serve Tiger beer along with cost and reviews. The guide acts as a digital compass by pointing users to the best events in 8 UK cities and beyond. Preview each venue’s offering with exclusive Dazed and Confused reviews and try the GPS-enabled venue finder to locate dining and drinking spots.

Another added feature is the Tuk Tuk challenge game. Chinese New Year celebrations depends on how the player navigates a vehicle around the streets of Chinatown delivering DJ decks, fireworks, and Tiger beer while avoiding oncoming traffic in the process.
