(Video) Ideas From The Past Might Be Key To Detroit (And America’s) Future
The Blueprint America series on PBS has been taking a look at what to do about the challenges of maintaining and modernizing infrastructure in the United States. ‘Beyond the Motor City’ aired earlier this week, and takes an in-depth look at the history of Detroit and the automobile and the struggles the city faces today. The episode also looks at emerging ideas and plans groups within the city are working on to transform the blighted downtown. Ironically some of these ideas are rooted in Detroit’s past at a time before cars emerged.
