Wearable Sensor Connects Would-Be Strangers

Wearable Sensor Connects Would-Be Strangers

By Kyle Studstill on February 10, 2010

MagnetU is a platform that connects nearby users with shared interests, powered by a small wearable short-range wireless device synced to users’ mobiles. These sensors are tied to an online profile, where users describe the kinds of people they would like to meet. The platform gives would-be strangers context for conversation by sending a notification to each mobile device when a match is nearby. The platform is also integrated with a host of other major social networks on the MagnetU Mobile World, allowing matches to connect easily on their network of choice.
