AM JAMZ Crowdsources Commuting Playlists

By Kyana Gordon on March 15, 2010

Today, WNYC launched AM JAMZ, an invitation for daily commuters to share the musical accompaniment from their daily trip to work. Whether you commute via train, bus, or car, WNYC listeners can easily share their favorite songs in the comment section of the AM JAMZ site. All the comments will culminate into a larger crowdsourcing project as selected jams become part of playlists for specific trains or commuting highlights, think “the Soundtrack to the C Train, or Songs for Staring Over the Water While Crossing the Brooklyn Bridge. One featured playlist streams songs from New Yorker music critic Sasha Frere-Jones Q train ride to Times Square, 42nd Street.
