Doctors Develop Cancer Fighting Bandage

Doctors Develop Cancer Fighting Bandage

By Aziz Ali on March 15, 2010

Scottish researchers have created an ambulight bandage device they say will fight skin cancer with little pain and no scarring. Using photodynamic therapy, the device combines LED lighting that activates toxic chemicals in the cream placed on the skin, which helps to fight and treat cancer.

Up until now, hospitals were restricted to bulky machines that forced them to keep patients in the hospital, but with the introduction of this device, the operation is miniaturized, and thus gives patients the freedom to return home to continue their treatment.
