Hitwise revealed new data recently, showing how Facebook has grown to be the largest website in the United States. The competitive intelligence service’s graph showed how Facebook comprises 7.07% of all U.S. visits with Google coming in a close second at 7.03%. The development is news as Hitwise has named Facebook the top site for the first time in the U.S, yet according to recent Comscore data Google still ranks #1 by reach at 81% of the U.S. population. Will the future include a social network capable of search engine functionalities?
