(Pics) Parks Not Freeways

As a small country dealing with a large population, Seoul, Korea has taken urban planning as precedence over freeway expansions. Beginning in 2003, Seoul embarked on an urban renewal project where a previous highway was demolished to reveal an underwater stream which would eventually become the centerpiece of a park carved out of Seoul’s urban landscape. Below you can see the fruits of their labour.
