PSFK Conference Speaker Interview: Ouigi Theodore

Ouigi Theodore will be one of the speakers at our upcoming PSFK Conference 2010, taking place on April 9th. Ouigi is the visionary, community-led brand builder behind the Brooklyn Circus line of clothing and chain of stores.

PSFK talked with Ouigi recently to see what he’s been up to lately.

What are you working on right now?

We are currently working on another coffee table book project. This time it’s with respected friend and photographer John Midgley with major styling efforts from Scott Newkirk.

What has been the most interesting response or reaction to your project?

You guys are what I wish I would have done with my life. That came from a 54 year old surgeon. It floored me!

What projects, people or ideas are currently inspiring your thinking these days?

I am a big fan of what the younger guys are doing online with their street edge and experience. How these guys make so much out of so little. The likes of

What developing trend, idea or technology makes you most excited or hopeful for the future?

I am excited about the wave of designers including BKc who are coming back to the US for production. It’s allot more expensive but their something special about that.

I am also excited at the future of urban fashion and culture. The younger guys who are heavily inspired by music,hip hop to be exact are doing allot more research than before. I predict that they will master the art of meshing worlds and this will produce a beautiful environment for marketers.
