Urban art and cute icons are not the first things that come to mind when thinking about the Middle East, but Styleislam is a label working to change that.

Urban art and cute icons are not the first things that come to mind when thinking about the Middle East, but Styleislam is a label working to change that. Typographically,¬†Herr Kesmen, the main artist behind the label, blends Arabic and English in his calligraphy and animates words like Sabr (Patience), Iqra’ (Read), and Thikr (Praise) in an attempt to re-package traditional virtues in a distinctly urban style.

Hailing from Germany’s Muslim community, it presents a rare but much needed blend of urban art and tradition. The design label is popular for casual wear t-shirts, but have also extended their products to bags, keychains, pins and wall murals. In addition to shopping, you can check out their downloads page here.
