With less than four weeks remaining before PSFK Conference New York 2010, our plans are taking shape and the speaker list is near finalized.
Under the umbrella title of “A Gathering for our Future”, I’ve noticed a couple of themes emerge as I curated the speaker list: storytelling & creative re-focus.
There will be a number of talks by folks like retail designer Andy Spade, artist Steve Powers, graphic designer Nick Felton and NY Times columnist Rob Walker who will talk about the association of stories with objects, places and experiences.
We will also have talks about how creative professionals are reviewing their skill sets and re-tooling to remain innovative and in demand. Ouigi Theodore of fashion label BK Circus, Tina Roth Eisenberg of the Swiss Miss blog and Erik Proulx who created the Lemonade film will describe on how they and their peers created new futures for themselves.
Here’s a run down of the speaker list as we have it now:
- Colin Beavan – Green pioneer and journalist aka No Impact Man
- John Dimatos – Lecturer concepting tech solutions for Unicef at NYU
- Nick Felton – Designer and creator of the annual infographic Feltron Report
- Zach Lieberman – Creative technologist whose work bridges the real world with the digital
- Andrew Hoppin – CIO who leverages digital media to create political and social impact
