The Long Now: Seminars About Long-term Thinking, Nils Gilman: Deviant Globilization- May 3, San Francisco: The Long Now Foundation’s monthly Seminars were started in 2003 to build a compelling body of ideas about long-term thinking; to help nudge civilization toward our goal of making long-term thinking automatic and common instead of difficult and rare. Author Nils Gilman will speak about the hidden and powerful economy of “deviant globalization” that revolves around human trafficking, drug dealing, gun running, cross-border waste disposal, organ trading, sex tourism, money laundering, transnational gangs, and piracy (both intellectual and physical).
FMX 2010 Conference- May 4-7, Stuttgart, Germany: The FMX Conference showcases special presentations on animation, effects, games and interactive media. Experienced professionals and renowned members of the CG community create, curate and host this years conference with a focus on the UK, China and Hamburg. Topics will include 3D stereo, the Virtual Humans Forum, the 5D Conference and the flashconference and features a presentation of selected Siggraph papers.
Lift10 Conference: Connected People- May 5-7, Geneva: Lift10 will gather one thousand participants to explore the most overlooked aspect of innovation: people.
