Piezo Shower Generates Self-Heated Water

By Kyle Studstill on April 28, 2010

Lining special piezoelectric fibers within thin pipes to generate heat for incoming water, the Piezo Shower concept describes a method for providing heated water with minimal extra energy. The shower is also tracks water usage and time, to help shape resource-conscious behaviors. While piezoelectric materials are still developing to a point where mass amounts of energy can be generated rapidly, the concept helps illuminate the a functional role they may play within the home.
