Rackspace Transforms Vacant Shopping Mall Into A Green Building
Rackspace, a web hosting company, has turned a vacant shopping mall into its LEED Gold certified headquarters. The Castle, as it is named, has green interiors with showers and natural lighting and uses only recycled water. During renovation, the company sent recovered doors, windows and fixtures to Habitat for Humanity and recycled around 1,900 tons of concrete and other building materials.
Rackspace’s new headquarters is part of a community redevelopment project in San Antonio, Texas.
