Kenyan Community’s Low Tech Anaerobic Digester

Kenyan Community’s Low Tech Anaerobic Digester

The Kenyan Community Initiative Support have developed a cost effective method to generate usable methane.

Naresh Kumar

A member of the Kenyan Community Initiative Support, has developed a crude anaerobic digester using only a drum, a valve and some pipes. When the digester produces methane from waste material, a balloon connected to a pipe on the outside is inflated. David is working on the loading & desludging processes and also intends to add a storage drum with a water-filled header tank to provide a near constant pressure.
