Kooaba Offers An Alternative To QR Codes

An iPhone app with image recognition allows users to photograph printed, physical content for future digital access.

Providing some additional context – and competition – into the Quick Response (QR) code market is Kooaba. It’s an iPhone app that may compete head on with apps like Sticky Bits, allowing you to snap a photo of content like a DVD or CD cover, book, magazine or newspaper article you may want to archive or return to in the near future. Instead of only being able to recognize a bar code, Kooaba will understand what you are scanning and provide an original PDF and additional information to return to at your web-based account. You can then easily share the information via your social networks, and return to the content you’ve saved for review later.
