A cleverly designed piece of transforming furniture.
Design students Maria Lobisch and Andreas Nather have created a compact mobile kitchen unit that improves upon the inefficient design of a static kitchen space, yet has all the essential elements of a typical kitchen. ‘Stewart & Justin Case’ is divided into two halves, one with a sink, a drying rack and a shelving system while the other serves as a dining table for four. The unit, made from steel and wood, offers several configurations including one in which the smaller unit can be embedded inside the larger one.
The project was presented at the DMY International Design Festival Berlin, 2010.
