PSFK takes a look at two efficient designs.
LED bulbs have been gaining popularity in recent times, with many companies and research labs coming up with new breakthroughs in the design and form of the energy-saving product.
Hong Kong-based Nokero has developed a solar powered LED bulb (above) which draws all its power from small solar panels mounted on its sides. The N100 bulb is housed inside a rainproof case with a battery that can light the bulb for up to four hours. Nokero plans to introduce this bulb to under-developed regions and would price it at around $6.
Another unique LED bulb that came up this week is designer Jurgen Honold’s ‘Bulled Classic’ which is designed to improve the heat budget of the LED bulb by emitting light evenly on all sides. It contains eleven individual LED modules spread across ‘heat sinks’ to ensure even heat absorption. Bulled Classic will debut in the market this fall.
