Recycled Plastic Bottles Turned Into Award Winning Decorative Lights
UK-based designer, Sarah Turner, specializes in making decorative lighting from recycled waste plastic bottles. Her studio, Sarah Turner Eco Art & Design, collects bottles from cafes and homes and sandblasts them after cleaning. They then cut the bottles creatively to transform them into interesting, decorative shapes. These soda bottle lamps recently won the Readers’ Choice Grand Prize at Inhabitat’s Spring Greening Contest.
Sarah generally uses Coca Cola and Sprite bottles to provide lamps in different sizes and colors.
